Alexis Hudon is from Quebec. A trained sommelier, he arrived in France in 2014 to harvest in Burgundy, as well as in the Loire Valley at Domaine des vignes du Maynes and Domaine Nicolas Reau. He then worked for a year in the restaurant industry in Paris, where he met Lise and Bertrand Jousset. He spent three years with them intermittently, while following viti-oeno training.
For love, he settled in Bourges and launched his trading house in 2018. Three years later, he created with his partner, Jérôme Loubert, the Montaillant estate (according to the name of the largest plot), located on the Chasnay hill, in IGP Côtes de la Charité, in order to start making its own vintages. The estate currently has 3 hectares of Chardonnay and 3 hectares of Pinot Noir, on mainly clay-limestone soil. In 2024, the estate will be certified in Organic Agriculture. In the cellar, Alexis does not allow any inputs, but only a minimal dose of sulfur.
