Winery Notes- The Gaucher vineyards are located in Arconville, a small village in the South of the Champagne region, a few miles away from Epernay, in a countryside with small hills. This is a true estate grower champagne with several generations of winemaking in the tradition of the appellation. A beautiful blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10%Chardonnay. For this Cuvee they used the 2010 and 2011 harvest and kept the wine 2 years on lees. Matured in oak casks with weekly batonnage, partial malolactic fermentation, the Champagne was then rested for 6 months after disgorgement in 2014 to perfect maturity. Dosage of 10 grams per liter is adapted to each vintage. This delicate style of saignée Champagne has set Gaucher rosé apart from other Champagnes. It has a beautiful freshness, its color is a light orange gold, scent hints at pink grapefruit, the flavors ripe and tangy, deepening to red fruit. Its structure is ideal for oysters. Red berries shine alongside the mineral texture and the pure line crisp acidity. It's a beautiful Champagne that could age longer.
