Champagne Etienne Calsac L’echappee Belle Blanc de Blancs

The cuvee L’Echappée Belle is a blanc de blanc of 100% Chardonnay from limestone and clay-limestone soils. The cuvee L’Echappée Belle is a blanc de blanc of 100% Chardonnay from limestone and clay-limestone soils. The grapes are mainly from 1er Cru vineyards in Grauves with North and Northwestern exposure. The base wine (2016 vintage) is aged on the lees for 7 months before being bottled with 30% reserve wine. On the nose one finds aromas of brioche, white flowers, ripe green apple and white peach. The ripe fruit carries over to the palate with peach, pear and apple profiles, as well as a fine creaminess. A delightful pairing with mussels, sea bass, or cod in white sauce.
