This very dark ruby colored wine from Pessac-Leognan opens with a fragrant black currant bouquet with hints of black cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, round and savory. The flavor profile is a black cherry and stony minerality blend with notes of black tea and cedar. I also detected hints of black licorice and spice. The finish is dry, and its mild dusty tannins and flavors are nicely prolonged. This wine benefits from some aeration and would pair well with Mexican pulled pork carnitas tacos. 54% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot & 3% Cabernet Franc. KWG
