Cavanna is a sub-zone of Barbaresco zone. The vineyard was planted in 1988 and 2006; soil composition is clay, silt, and sand. The wine is left to age for at least 18-24 months in large barrels of Slavonian oak. The winery recommends meaty pasta dishes, game roasts, braised red meats and mature cheeses. Luscious with notes of red fruit, spice, and florals. Medium high acid and gritty tannins.
