Cantina Sangro’s name is given thanks to the Sangro River that rises in the middle of Abruzzo National Park near Pescasseroli in the Apennine Mountains. This river is one of the most important waterways on the Adriatic side of the Apennines. Sandro River’s wide valley is a very prosperous agricultural area. Sangro winery is located left side of the valley, where deep and rich soils made up of silt and limestone pebbles, are the perfect terroir for the grapes to thrive, delivering wines with rich flavors and aromas. Cantina Sangro has recently incorporated Cantina Frentana’s winemaker, Gianni Pasquale. Gianni is a very respected Italian winemaker who’s leading some of the major cooperatives in Abruzzo.
