The absolutely tiny domaine is truly a family operation. The wife, Corinne, is part of the former Henry Clerc domaine. Some of the vines she inherited from her grandmother - they own only 12 acres. After hand harvesting, the juice from the press goes directly into the barrels. When the fermentations are finished, the wine rests tranquilly for 10 months before bottling. While the total production is miniscule, they do produce some important appellations.  Corinna Guillemard-Clerc is third generation in her family to run the estate. She owns about 25ha of vines, across several appellations and only recently began to hold back the top 30% of her production to bottle under the estate name. Her approach is minimalist intervention, with everything being done by hand. Any use of new oak is only in the very ripest of years and only up to about 20%, as is the case here for 18 months.  This vineyard is located just below Bienvenue-Batard Montrachet.
