Gauthier Laurent Gauthier was born on the Cote du Py Hill. His parents were also growers. The estate has existed since 1834. In 1983, he started his own estate with only 2.5ha. Then in 1991, he took over the estate of his father and now his son, Jason is working in the vines. Laurent is very demanding in the vineyard and being a perfectionist, he is very proud of his wines. Laurent Gauthier was born in 1965 on the Cote du Py hill in Morgon in the Beaujolais; his parents were winegrowers, and the estate has been in the family since 1834. He took over the estate from his father in 1991 and now works with his son Jason caring for their five acres of vines. His specialty is powerfully concentrated, ageworthy Morgon, but he also makes a small amount of a dry rose because he wants to have something to drink in the summer. The wine is, of course, 100% Gamay made from grapes from his younger vines in Morgon and Chiroubles, highly aromatic and full of fresh and fruity flavors; on the palate, the wine is decidedly dry, vibrant, and fresh with flavors of snappy red fruits, flowers, and lemony acidity.
