It is rare for an older Russian River Valley Zinfandel vineyard, such as Jolene’s, to be planted almost exclusively to Zinfandel selections; there are only small percentages of Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet and Carignane intermingled among the vines. This old-vine Zinfandel’s alluring aromas and flavors of ripe black cherry, blackberry and cassis are the highlights of the single vineyard Jolene’s bottling. The texture is rich and mouth filling with ripe blueberry and tobacco characteristics, supple tannins and a creamy, elegant finish.
