The first thing that strikes me when tasting Maxime Magnon’s rosé is always its beautiful hue: a violet so soft and glowing it seems almost otherworldly. Maxime is one of those gifted vignerons who makes the wine world sit up and take note of the Corbières appellation. Here he takes a classic blend of mostly Grenache, rounded out with touches of Cinsault and Carignan, and bottles an elegant beauty. Juicy and ethereal, it is—remarkably—as plush on the palate as it appears in the glass. Kermit Lynch
