James Suckling: 93 Points  A solid riserva with crushed-berry and walnut aromas with some dried roses, too. It’s medium-bodied with juicy fruit and a long, flavorful finish. Hints of smoke and walnut underneath. Drinkable now, but better in a year or two.

Wine Advocate: 92 Points  With fruit selected across four parcels of Sangiovese vines, the Castello Monterinaldi 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva offers a pretty, perfumed quality with lots of wild berry, licorice, crushed rose, cured tobacco and some budding tertiary definition. The wine is just beginning to turn toward a more aged character. This production of 24,000 bottles sees 24 months in a combination of tonneaux and botte.
