The vintage of 2015 was characterized low yields and high quality. Select lots were sourced from diverse Napa Valley sub-appellations to create a medley of nuanced flavors, aromas, and varietal characteristics. The fourth year of drought and the low yields contribute to the vibrancy of fruit and high-quality tannins of the Rutherford Ranch Merlot from 2015.
Ripe Bing cherries, blueberry, sage and toasty oak notes are complemented by hints of vanilla lingering on a long finish.
Soft tannins and the grape’s inherent sweetness make this wine an ideal accompaniment to duck and other light meat entrees, particularly with blackened fish dishes.
Blend: 98 % Merlot, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.
