Following in the footsteps of illustrious predecessors who have left their mark on the Loire wine landscape, such as Charles Joguet, François Chidaine, or Didier Dagueneau with his Astéroïde vintage, Thibaud Boudignon offers us this rare treasure, a Savennières from vines planted "franc de pied," that is to say without rootstock, in the heart of his Clos de la Hutte. This approach aims to rediscover an original taste of the terroir, prior to the widespread use of rootstocks from North America imposed by phylloxera. This wine is practically impossible to find, reserved for a handful of lucky people who may have the opportunity to taste it once in their life. We can only be delighted to be able to offer you a few precious bottles. In his quest for purity taken to the extreme, Thibaud opted for 18 months of aging in a Wine Globe, these glass globes whose qualities today seduce many of the most demanding winegrowers. Although very young, this wine already dazzles with its brilliance, an incandescent light evoking the purest diamonds that have just been polished. Its dreamlike and evanescent nose reveals a sophisticated composition mixing rock salt, iodine, bergamot, pumice stone, violet water, vine peach, clementine, and a floral dimension that gradually emerges, transporting the taster to a French garden overlooking the Loire, with its beds of cornflowers and pansies, and its arches of wisteria. On the palate, energy and intensity predominate: from the first sip, the sparkling juice electrifies the taste buds with pure flavors of citrus pulp, rhubarb, passion fruit, intertwined with concentrated notes of aromatic herbs such as tarragon and fresh coriander, as well as a stimulating touch of licorice stick and turmeric. The mineral imprint, evoking rock dust and fossilized shells, brings an invigorating freshness. As one explores this intense nectar, the triumphant return of flavors of apricot, tangy pineapple and fresh mango enchants the palate. The depth and resonance of the finish are astounding, especially for such a young wine. Carried by the juicy, vibrant acidity of citrus, it sits with us for long seconds. A true concentrate of fruit and terroir, an elixir of life that confidently defies the Shangri-La valley from the top… To be forgotten for a few years in the cellar before opening it to enhance a lobster cooked with blue cheese, a spider crab casserole with glazed vegetables, or a line-caught sea bass cooked in a salt crust. An absolute collector's item, numbered bottles...
