Our goal is to create wines which transmit the purest expressions of Garnacha and Cariñena. The Ebro River Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges are the origin of these two grapes and it is here in Aragón, Spain that we have discovered amazing vineyards and make amazing wines. Vinos del Viento is the brainchild of Michael Cooper, a native of Santa Barbara who made Spain his home in 2002 when he moved to the country to be with his Spanish wife, Rosario. Michael prides himself in being a “vine-hunter”- he has made it his mission to seek out high-altitude, old-vine, dry-farmed vineyards, which sometimes house century-old indigenous vines.
